We focus on three core areas: Entrepreneurship and SME Development, Inclusive Finance (including gender-intelligent finance), and Policy Dialogue and Regulation. To date, we have delivered over 80 projects, reaching more than 8 million previously unbanked individuals across both the largest emerging markets and the most underserved, landlocked economies.

About the Role

The Junior Consultant will support the organization in delivering high-quality research, analysis, and insights to inform strategic decision-making and project delivery. Working within a structured and collaborative environment, the role contributes to research, data interpretation, and reporting across financial inclusion projects.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior team members and cross-functional stakeholders to gather and analyze information and produce deliverables including PowerPoint Decks, written reports, and analytical tools that are professional, accurate, and of the utmost value to the client.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to develop core analytical, research, and business competencies within a consulting environment, with exposure to international projects and emerging market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research activities, including literature reviews, market scans, and stakeholder mapping – all within financial inclusion sector
  • Assist in data collection and analysis (quantitative and qualitative) to support project objectives
  • Compile, validate, and interpret data from primary and secondary sources (e.g., World Bank, IMF, national statistics)
  • Develop and co-develop reports, presentations, and client deliverables
  • Translate research findings and data into clear, concise, and actionable insights
  • Support the preparation of proposals, concept notes, and internal knowledge materials
  • Assist in project coordination tasks, including documentation, tracking, and communication
  • Contribute to additional analytical, research, and operational tasks to support overall project delivery
  • Stay informed on global and regional trends in financial inclusion, digital finance, and MSME development

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Public Policy, International Development, or a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in research, consulting, analysis, or a related field
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with good business awareness
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proactive, reliable, hard-working, and able to work both independently and within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Skilled in Microsoft 365, particularly PowerPoint (for creating client-facing presentations) and Excel (for data analysis and organization)
  • Ability to synthesize information and present insights clearly
  • Interest or exposure to financial inclusion, development finance, and/or emerging markets

Nice to Have

  • Spanish proficiency or fluency
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel advanced features, Power BI, or basic Python/R)
  • Experience working with survey tools or research methodologies
