  • Work closely and directly with senior management providing essential support in daily activities
  • Inbox Management: Monitor and organize the email inboxes of senior management, ensuring important conversations are highlighted and promptly addressed

  • Supervise the company invoicing, expenses, timesheets, approvals, travel, and payments process flows, share regular status updates with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain an organized tracking system allowing for easy follow-through
  • Prepare and process invoices, bills, and payments; review & approve expense reports in line with client requirements, regulations, and company policy
  • Organize company and project-related travel bookings in a cost-effective and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Ensure the company’s financial and operating systems are up-to-date by inputting new data and reconciling accounts

    The present Request for Proposal (RFP) is open to all Guatemala-based firms that can and are able to provide the requested services described further below and have the legal capacity to deliver these services the country.

    1        Background

    CCX Inclusive Business (CCX IB) is currently working on a project to assess market conditions and identify gaps and opportunities in financial services use among low-income and marginalized populations, especially women, as well as to advance digital financial inclusion in Guatemala.

    2        Objectives & Responsibilities

    The research firm will be responsible for recruitment, logistics, and research activities for market research with target segments in Guatemala.

    Main activities:

    • Draft questionnaire/interview guides with moderator instructions for focus groups and individual interviews
    • Source and recruit research participants for focus groups, individual interviews, phone / online survey, and/or other formats as needed
    • Secure research venues as needed and appropriate in the current health climate
    • Facilitate qualitative research sessions according to CCX IB methodology
    • Provide regular updates and reporting on research activities to CCX IB
    • Generate interview transcripts within 24 hours of every session, and provide video footage if required for the assignment
    • Ensure translation services for indigenous (Mayan) language conversations where necessary
    • Support or lead analysis of the research, including identifying relevant insights and making recommendations based on the findings
    • Develop a presentation on key findings

    The team has broadly estimated the need for between 18 and 22 focus groups followed up by individual interviews with certain participants based on broad criteria critical to achieving the objectives of this project. The team anticipates individual interviews will consist of testing a service or solution.

    Outputs:

    • Key findings presentation that includes:
      • Report on all activities conducted
      • Profiles of target segments including income level, income sources (labor and non-labor), other socio-economic information
      • Information on current needs, preferences, and behaviours related to financial and non-financial services by target segment, including both household and business
      • Overview of most relevant gaps in servicing target segments and potential entry points for financial service providers
      • Description of tested service or solution, including ideation process, prototype features and target segment perspectives, as well as marketing tactics

    3        Project Team

    The research firm will work with the CCX IB team, including a local team member, as well as with the Project Manager in New York city and Research Lead based in the Dominican Republic. The research firm will report to the Project Manager and Research Lead and work closely with local team member.

    4        Duration of Consultancy

    The expected start of this project will be September 2022. Activities are expected to run through October 2022.

    5        Location of Work

    The selected consultant will have an office in Ciudad de Guatemala and accessibility to the selected regions of the country where the investigation will take place (exact regions to be determined). All research will take place in locations convenient for the target participants.

    6        Minimum Qualifications

    • Based locally, with offices in Ciudad de Guatemala
    • Proven track record in research design, field-based qualitative research, and analysis of findings among vulnerable populations
    • Experience conducting research in financial services
    • Fluency in English, Spanish, and local languages (Mayan)
    • Strong English-language writing skills are a plus

    Financial Administrative Officer (FAO)

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum BS/BA in Finance, Business Administration or a related field

    DUTIES

     Overview of Position: The Financial Administrative Officer (FAO) provides financial/administrative management oversight of ConsumerCentriX activities, to include budgeting, forecasting, and preparing the necessary documentation for accounting and implementation of all services required to financially and administratively support CCX IB operations as procurements and some staff-related duties. The FAO will also provide complementary administrative support.

    Line of Authority: The FAO reports directly to the Managing Partner and coordinate the work with all partners. The FAO works closely with the CCX IB accountant and other stakeholders in a collaborative manner and will promote a collegial and participatory approach to project management and implementation.

     

    Roles and Responsibilities: The Financial Administrative Officer will perform the following tasks:

    I. Financial Management Duties

    • Input Payments & Transfers
    • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory policies
    • Revise & Approve Expense Reports in line with regulations
    • Supervise cash flow tracking and prepare cash flow forecasts
    • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project/ program budgets
    • Track resource & project profitability i.e w timesheets

     II. Administrative Duties

     a) Human Resources

    • Recruitment: Ensure that recruitment for internal and external staff is conducted in a transparent manner and follows CCX IB policies and procedures
    • Ensure that contracts for all temporaray consultants are prepared in a timely manner, and are fully compliant with labor laws; maintain contract files;
    • Track and oversee time and attendance reporting; 2) vacation and leave management, and 3) personnel recordkeeping; 

     b) Procurement

    • In collaboration with project leads and project budget leads prepare RFPs, RFQs, specifications, delivery schedules, etc., for services to be procured internationally; submit for review and approval
    • Approve contracts for consultants
    • Reviews agreements with donors/funders – summarise key points in document

    III. Other Duties

    • Supervise and ensure relevant insurance coverage
    • Participate / Lead and assist in the preparation of new technical proposals, as necessary

    IV. Management Reporting

    The FAO is responsible for production / supervision of the following reports:

    • Lead - Monthly Financial Report and forecast (P&L, CF; Balance)
    • Supervise - Quarterly Administrative and Logistics Report (MSA / SOW update etc)
    • Weekly Progress Report
    • Lead - Quarterly financial report (in collaboration with the accountant)

As a company focused on consumer centricity, we prioritize shots with people in them wherever possible to put an effective “human face” on our work. Additionally, we prefer capturing subjects in landscapes and actions that provide insights about their everyday lives.

    To provide much-needed information and solutions for Ugandan entrepreneurs struggling with the pandemic’s economic impacts, Stanbic Bank has partnered with ConsumerCentriX on the Covid-19 Business Info Hub.

    This website will provide entrepreneurs advice on financial management to overcome economic slowdown and insights into new developments across industries.  Employing over 2.5 million people, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are the critical driver of growth for Uganda’s economy. However, as the COVID 19 pandemic unfolds, the SME sector faces reduced business activity and financial security due to disruptions to the supply chain, travel restrictions, and changing work environments.

    The Covid-19 Business Info Hub will become a centralized platform for Stanbic to communicate responsive efforts with the SME segment and enterprise clients in Uganda. However, the site’s vision is to become a trusted resource for all entrepreneurs in Uganda, looking for industry insights and relevant virtual training sessions.

     

    Scope of Work

    The Photographer will provide CCX the following main activities:

    • At least a hundred raw photos of each client. Each photoshoot should include a diverse range of perspectives and capture different actions
    • Shoot a range of b-roll shots of clients in action so a video editor can easily piece together a sequence of wide, medium, and close ups. Videos must be shot in at least 1080p.

     

    Deliverables

    The photographer will be required to submit to CCX:

    • All raw photo files and video files

     

    Requirements

    • Conduct interviews (and effectively transcribe) with SME owners and Business Incubator graduates to produce content for the Hub
    • Translation of content from English to Luganda
    • Voice over animations in English and Luganda
    • Coordinating the African Management Institute (AMI) Survive to Thrive program training (Call clients and confirm attendance, coordinate kickoff meetings and training). Currently, the program has 23 Stanbic Bank clients.
    • Support the training program for Enterprise Banking with the Learning and Development Department at Stanbic Bank as requested by the project director

    Deliverables

    The consultant will submit routine reports to the project director (as required by CCX SOW policy) and keep all relevant CCX staff abreast with continuing work assignments

    Mid-level, full-time consulting position with potential for full-time employment upon successful completion

    Background

    ConsumerCentriX is seeking an energetic Local Resident Advisor to join the team for a period of six months with the potential for full-time employment with a local partner in Rwanda upon successful completion.

    ConsumerCentriX is a consulting firm based in Switzerland that focuses on translating human-centered market research and industry expertise into strategic insight that is actionable. We work with financial regulators and service providers in emerging markets to support the un- and underserved.

    ConsumerCentriX is partnering with a leading bank in Rwanda to enhance the bank’s capacity to deliver a more holistic set of financial and non-financial services that better meet the needs of its SME customers. The project approach includes optimizing the operating model, expanding the provision of non-financial services, and leveraging data management platforms for improved product and service design and delivery. Given the effects of COVID-19, the team has identified a need for a Local Resident Advisor to support on a full-time basis.

    Position Description

    Based at the local partner’s location in Rwanda, the Local Resident Advisor will be the primary project manager for day-to-day activities under the guidance of the ConsumerCentriX Project Director and team. Responsibilities will include preparation of project documentation including workplans and background documentation, monitoring of project progress, and internal stakeholder management within the partner bank. The Local Resident Advisor will also be responsible for identifying, initiating, and successfully maintaining relationships with potential external strategic partners that could be beneficial for the project.

    Requirements

    Qualified candidates will have the following:

    • 7+ years of experience in a project management or business development function in a financial institution, corporation, or development organization
    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or the Social Sciences
    • Language proficiency in English and Kinyarwanda/French
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities/workstreams at once
    • Track record of initiating and maintaining partnerships with multiple stakeholders

    THE POSITION

    CCX IB is seeking a Financial and Administrative Officer to provide a variety of administrative and financial support duties. The successful candidate will be energetic, and detail orientated, who enjoys making a difference and being part of a team that takes pride in their work

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • BS/BA in Finance, Business Administration or a related field
    • Two years of relevant experience in financial management and program administration.
    • Good interpersonal skills, team player, highly adaptable and able to work under stress.
    • Sensitivity to the concerns of the developing world and able to work with providers from different cultural backgrounds.
    • Good oral and written communication skills, with an excellent command of English.
    • Highly computer literate, highly skilled in the use of MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.)

    DUTIES

    Overview of Position: The Financial Administrative Officer (FAO) provides financial/administrative management oversight of CCX IB activities, to include budgeting, forecasting, and preparing the necessary documentation for accounting and implementation of all services required to financially and administratively support CCX IB operations as procurements and some staff-related duties. The FAO will also provide complementary administrative support.

    Line of Authority: The FAO reports directly to the Managing Partner and coordinate the work with all partners. The FAO works closely with the CCX IB accountant in a collaborative manner and will promote a collegial and participatory approach to project management and implementation.

    Roles and Responsibilities: The Financial Administrative Officer will perform the following tasks:

    I. Financial Management Duties

    • Establish and maintain requisite bank accounts for project activities;
    • Maintain and monitor petty cash account
    • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory policies;
    • Maintain project financial reporting systems to record field expenditures, in accordance with policies and procedures prescribed by contract with funders/donors, to include preparing monthly bank and general ledger accounts and reconciliations;
    • Enter data for all financial transactions into accounting system; code financial transactions to appropriate account code, component’s services and register numbers;
    • Prepare expense reports in Excel, detailing monthly expenditures by budget line item;
    • Submit reports on a monthly basis;
    • Monitor bank balances and request transfer of funds, based on the spending projections from each of the project components;
    • Prepare cash forecasts;
    • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project/ program budgets.

    Other related duties

    II. Administrative Duties

    A. Human Resources

    • Ensure that recruitment for all positions is conducted in a transparent manner and follows CCX IB policies and procedures;
    • Ensure that contracts for all local-hire staff are prepared in a timely manner, and are fully compliant with labor laws; maintain contract files;
    • Manage payroll operations;
    • Track and oversee 1) time and attendance reporting; 2) vacation and leave management, and 3) personnel recordkeeping;
    • Other HR duties

    B. Procurement

    • Manage procurement of local goods and services in accordance with the CCX IB Procedures to include obtaining quotes and spot checks for verification of market prices and confirmation that goods and services were provided at the rates quoted;
    • Prepare RFPs, RFQs, specifications, delivery schedules, etc., for services to be procured internationally; submit these to Managing Partner;
    • Prepare contracts for consultants
    • Reviews agreements with donors/funders

    C. Logistics

    • Support CCX IB staff and short-term consultants as required (lodging, airport pickups, etc.)

    III. Other Duties

    • Provide financial and administrative support, as required;
    • Assist with maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure/programs of the field office;
    • Participate and assist in the preparation of new technical proposals, as necessary

    IV. Reporting

    The FAO is responsible for production of the following reports:

    • Monthly Updated Project Report
    • Monthly Financial Report
    • Quarterly Administrative and Logistics Report
    • Weekly Progress Report
    • Quarterly financial report (in collaboration with the accountant)
